2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Range, Specs & Features
The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is Car and Driver‘s 2026 EV of the Year. It carries a starting MSRP of $28,995 for the LT and $32,995 for the RS.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for new vehicles includes manufacturer and distributor options and delivery, process and handling fees, which may be subject to change at any time. MSRP excludes taxes, title, license and dealer installed options, accessories, fees and charges. MSRP is not the dealer advertised price. Dealer price will vary. The dealer sets the final price.
It delivers 262 miles of EPA-estimated range from a 65 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. It is also the first Chevrolet built with a native NACS charge port. That means it plugs into Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.
EPA-estimated fuel economy figures are for comparison purposes only. Your actual mileage will vary depending on driving conditions, how you drive and maintain your vehicle, battery age/condition, and other factors.
For commuters and small families around Waxahachie, that is a lot of EV for the money.
2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV Range and Efficiency
The Bolt returns an EPA-estimated 134 MPGe city, an EPA-estimated 106 MPGe highway, and an EPA-estimated 120 MPGe combined. EPA-estimated range is 262 miles on a full charge.

For drivers commuting across Ellis County and up into the Metroplex, that covers a week of typical errands on one charge. Zero tailpipe emissions also means no fuel cost. Electric drivetrains have fewer moving parts than combustion engines, which generally means less maintenance over time.

Charging the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV
Charging is where the 2027 Bolt separates itself from earlier generations. The native NACS charge port is standard on both trims. No adapter, no dongle.
That opens direct access to the Tesla Supercharger network alongside the broader public network. The Bolt is also vehicle-to-home capable. Paired with a GM Energy Home System, it can power a properly equipped home during an outage.
Bolt EV Charging at a Glance
| Charging Method | Detail |

Exterior Design
At 169.6 inches long on a 105.3-inch wheelbase, the Bolt is compact enough for tight parking. It is still tall enough to load cargo without crouching.
The exterior carries a hatchback-crossover profile with a roof spoiler, painted bumpers, and chrome bright trim around the side windows. LED headlights, daytime running lights, and rear lights are standard. A dusk sensor and automatic high-beam control let the lighting adjust itself on evening drives.
2027 Bolt EV Exterior Colors
| Color | Availability |

| Mosaic Black Metallic | LT and RS |
| Marina Blue Metallic | LT and RS |
| Sterling Grey Metallic | LT and RS |
| Habanero Orange | LT and RS |
| Relic Green Metallic | LT only |

Both trims ride on 17-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires. The LT wears a silver-painted finish. The RS wears gloss black, and adds gloss-black roof rails, a gloss-black grille, and RS badging.
Electric Power Built for Waxahachie Commutes
The Bolt runs a single front-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor. It produces 210 hp and 169 lb-ft of torque through a single-speed transmission to the front wheels.
Electric motors deliver full torque instantly from a standstill. That translates to confident acceleration merging onto US-287 or pulling away from a light downtown.
The suspension pairs an independent MacPherson strut front with coil springs and a semi-independent torsion beam rear. A front stabilizer bar adds composure through corners, and electric power steering keeps the wheel light without sacrificing feedback. All four corners use disc brakes, ventilated up front, with ABS and brake assist. An electronic parking brake adds auto-hold and hill-holder.
Single-pedal driving is standard. It lets the motor recapture energy during deceleration and reduces brake wear. StabiliTrak stability control runs continuously in the background, and the Bolt is rated a Zero Emission Vehicle at 0 g/mi CO2.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
Five passengers fit in a 2+3 configuration. Cargo space measures 16.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and expands to roughly 56 cubic feet with them folded.
The rear seats fold in a split-bench configuration, so you can carry passengers and gear at the same time. Cargo hooks, a rigid rear parcel shelf, and a cargo area light are standard. So are single-zone automatic climate control with tactile controls, a full floor console with front and rear cupholders, and dual vanity mirrors.
2027 Bolt EV Trim Levels
The Bolt comes in two trims. Both share the same powertrain, battery, range, charging hardware, safety equipment, and infotainment. The differences are in styling and interior appointments.
Bolt EV LT
The LT carries a starting MSRP of $28,995. It comes with cloth seating, a six-way manual driver’s seat, a urethane flat-bottom steering wheel, and 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels. Relic Green Metallic is exclusive to this trim. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are available through the Comfort and Evotex packages.
Bolt EV RS
The RS carries a starting MSRP of $32,995. It comes standard with Evotex synthetic leather seating in black with red contrast stitching, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated wrapped steering wheel, an eight-way power driver’s seat, multi-color ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a rear center armrest. It also adds 17-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels, gloss-black roof rails, a gloss-black grille, and RS badging. Atomic Yellow is exclusive to this trim.

Technology and Connectivity
A dual-screen cockpit anchors the interior. An 11-inch reconfigurable driver information center sits ahead of the driver, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen sits at the center of the dash. Both are standard on LT and RS.
The infotainment system runs Google built-in. That means Google Maps, Google Assistant voice control, and Play Store apps are native to the vehicle, with no phone tethering required. Google Maps is integrated with the vehicle’s systems, so routes account for battery range, recommend charging stops based on real-time station status, and precondition the battery ahead of a DC fast-charging stop.
The 2027 Bolt does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. GM has moved its electric lineup entirely to the Google-based system.
OnStar connectivity supports remote lock and unlock, vehicle diagnostics, remote climate control, remote battery management with charge scheduling and completion alerts, and automatic collision notification. Over-the-air software updates keep the system current without a service visit.

Front seatbelts include pre-tensioners, all three rear positions have three-point belts, and LATCH child seat anchors are standard. ABS with brake assist, auto-hold, hill holder, StabiliTrak, and OnStar emergency calling round out the package.
Driver-assistance and advanced safety systems are supplemental aids and are not substitutes for safe and attentive driving. Availability, operation, and effectiveness vary by trim and equipment and depend on factors including road, weather, traffic, and vehicle condition. Always keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. See your owner’s manual for system limitations and details.
2027 Bolt EV Warranty Coverage
Chevrolet’s warranty structure addresses the two questions EV buyers ask first: battery life and drivetrain reliability.
| Coverage | Term |
|---|---|
| Battery and electric propulsion components | 8 years / 100,000 miles |
| Bumper-to-bumper limited | 3 years / 36,000 miles |
| Powertrain limited | 5 years / 60,000 miles |
| Roadside assistance | 5 years / 60,000 miles |
| Corrosion | 3 years / 36,000 miles |
| Rust-through | 6 years / 100,000 miles |
The battery and certain electric propulsion components carry the longest coverage at 8 years or 100,000 miles. That is the figure most EV shoppers weigh when they think about long-term ownership.
